About Me

Hello, my name is Joseph Gallagher. I am a SUNY Cortland College Graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in the field of Physical Education and a Master of Science degree in the field of Adapted Physical Education from the University of South Carolina. In my time at Cortland, I held a student assistant coaching position for the SUNY Cortland Football team in which I coached the Running backs and Special Teams.

I am currently working for the Oceanside School District as a Physical Education Teacher Assistant at their Kindergarten Center where I teach 19 sections of Kindergarten and 9 sections of Pre-K. I also assist the Boy's Varsity Track and Field team as one of the field event coaches for the winter and spring seasons. During the fall season, I am an assistant coach for the Baldwin High School Varsity Football team where I coach both the running backs and linebackers.

I am a Physical Education teacher whose main goal is to teach children of all ages different techniques and skills that will help them in their development towards beginning and maintaining a happy and healthy lifestyle. I believe the earlier we are able to educate our students through the diverse world of physical activity and show them how much fun it is to be active, the quicker we can get students back outside and moving every day through meaningful physical activity.
